FreeAdmin & operations

Admins need to drive a subscription through its lifecycle: the six statuses are Pending, Active, Trial, On-Hold, Cancelled, and Expired. From the detail page you can cancel immediately or at end-of-period (with a reason), undo a scheduled cancellation, put a subscription on hold, and reactivate an on-hold or cancelled one. This recipe maps the admin lifecycle actions and their effects.

What you get
  • Cancel now (immediate) or schedule for the period end.
  • Reverse a scheduled cancel with Undo before it runs.
  • Put a subscription On Hold and reactivate later.
  • Understand Cancelled vs Expired and what each clears.

Notes & edge cases

End-of-period cancellation keeps the subscription Active until the next payment date, then auto-cancels; no email is sent until it executes.
Immediate cancellation removes all future scheduled actions and emails the customer.
Expired = reached length limit or fixed end date (Pro); Cancelled = stopped by someone/non-payment — different recorded meta.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Only an end-of-period (scheduled) cancellation, via Undo Scheduled Cancellation before the date arrives. Immediate cancellations can be reactivated by setting status back to Active.

On Hold pauses renewals and can be reactivated; Cancelled is terminal (though you can still reactivate by setting Active). Overdue subscriptions move Active → On Hold → Cancelled via the grace period.
