Expiring promotional credit

Promo credit that sits forever loses its punch. Set an expiry so customers spend it — with automatic reminders before it lapses.

  • Expires after N days
  • 7-day warning email
  • Creates urgency

ProSwitching, features & credit

Promotional credit that never expires loses urgency and lingers as a liability. Store Credit (Pro) supports an expiration period: each new credit is stamped with an expiry, customers get a Credit Expiring email 7 days before, and a daily job clears lapsed balances (with a Credit Expired notice). This recipe sets a 90-day expiry to drive customers to spend.

What you get
  • New credit expires after the period you set (e.g. 90 days).
  • Customers get a warning email 7 days before expiry.
  • Lapsed credit is cleared by a daily job, with an expired notice.
  • Urgency drives customers to spend their balance.

Notes & edge cases

Expiry is a single global value; you can’t set different periods per credit source.
The expiration batch runs daily at 3:00 AM server time.
