Upgrade paths between plan tiers
Give customers a one-click path to a higher tier — ArraySubs prorates the unused time and charges only the difference.
- Basic → Pro → Enterprise
- Difference prorated
- Free core
An upgrade path lets a subscriber move to a higher-priced plan mid-cycle without cancelling and re-buying. ArraySubs handles the money: it credits the unused time on the current plan and charges only the difference for the new one. You define which products a plan can upgrade to on the Linked Products tab; ArraySubs even verifies direction by normalized daily rate so an ‘upgrade’ is always actually pricier. This recipe wires Basic → Pro → Enterprise.
- Customers upgrade to a higher tier in one action.
- Unused time is credited; only the difference is charged.
- A plan_switch order records the full proration math.
- Direction is auto-verified by daily rate (±5% tolerance).

Open the Linked Products tab
Edit the lower-tier subscription product and open Linked Products. The Subscription Plan Switching section appears for subscription products.
Plan Switching & RelationshipsSet the upgrade targets
In ‘Upgrade to,’ search and select the higher-priced products (e.g. on Basic, add Pro and Enterprise). Repeat per product to build the ladder.
Plan Switching & RelationshipsSet proration to immediate
In Settings → Plan Switching, keep Proration type = Prorate immediately so upgrades charge the difference now.
Plan Switching & RelationshipsConfirm direction detection
ArraySubs compares normalized daily rates — a target beyond +5% is treated as an upgrade regardless of which field it’s in.
