Fixed end-date membership

For seasons, cohorts, and academic years — end every membership on the same calendar date instead of a rolling cycle.

ProSwitching, features & credit

Some memberships should all end on the same date — an academic year, a season, a cohort. Fixed Period Membership (Pro) overrides the rolling subscription length so the plan ends on a specific calendar date (absolute) or a recurring annual cutoff (e.g. every Aug 31), with an optional enrollment window. This recipe builds an academic-year membership.

What you get
  • All members share the same end date regardless of join date.
  • Recurring annual rolls to next year if the cutoff already passed.
  • An enrollment window can limit when the plan is purchasable.
  • At period end the plan expires (or auto-renews for recurring).

  2. Choose the end-date type

Pick Recurring annual cutoff and set Month = August, Day = 31 (or an Absolute date for a one-off end date).

  3. Set the enrollment window

Optionally set Enrollment opens (Aug 1) and closes (Oct 31) to limit purchase timing. Set At period end to Expire.

Good to know

Notes & edge cases

Fixed Period Membership is a Pro feature; the Subscription Length field is ignored and cleared to 0 when it’s on.
Absolute-date products become unpurchasable once the date passes; recurring cutoffs roll to the next year.
‘Renew’ at period end is only available for the recurring-annual type.

FAQ

Questions, answered

For a recurring annual cutoff, if the date has already passed this year, their end date rolls to the next year’s cutoff. For an absolute date, the product becomes unpurchasable once it passes.

Yes. A trial runs from purchase; when it ends billing begins, but the subscription still ends on the fixed date regardless of when the trial started.
