Offer a cheaper plan instead of cancelling
A downgrade keeps the relationship and some revenue. Present a cheaper plan at cancellation for customers citing price or missing features.
- Downgrade vs cancel
- Triggered by price/features
- Uses plan switching
Some customers won’t pay your current price but would pay something. The Retention Flow’s downgrade offer keeps that revenue: at cancellation, the customer is shown a path to a cheaper plan instead of leaving entirely. It leans on the plan switching system, so it only appears when you’ve configured downgrade paths on the product. This recipe enables a downgrade offer for price and feature objections.
- Cancellers are offered a cheaper plan instead of leaving.
- Accepting routes them through the plan switching flow.
- You keep partial revenue and the customer relationship.
- Only shows when downgrade paths exist on the product.
